Finally got an answer –

Well I finally got a clear answer on updating a book (April), on Amazon. Short of it is they have to send it out to old customers. When you update a book it only changes for new purchases.
The changes have to be what they consider as having a significant effect on quality, and they want a list of them with locations.
This is a major undertaking.
I’ll do it but not quickly. Also I have not kept every revision I made so I’m hoping I can find one old enough to show what I want.
Crud.

If you can’t find your original word manuscript, you could convert the original kindle .mobi file to pdf and then do the same to the new version and then there are programs (acrobat, pdfconverter, diffpdf, etc..) that can compare the two versions and give you the list of differences.

I have noted a logical inconsistency in April series, in April Easy is her paternal Grandfather and her maternal grandparents live in Australia, in A Different Perspective “I’m Faye Lewis. My husband manages the actual physical habitat for Mitsubishi. My father was one of the men who came up and built M3.”

      Got me. I messed up.

I saw it too, but you mean HAPPY, not Easy. Easy is the Spec Ops scooter pilot (and black) – no relation to Lewis clan. April’s family is Robert “Happy” Lewis, Steve and Faye Lewis (parents), and Robert “Bob” Lewis (brother). And I think her father is misnamed in a couple of places in the latest book also.

Will do a search thru on the names and correct any I find. Didn’t catch the reference to Easy in the comment. OK grandfather mixup is fixed. Steve? Don’t remember doing that but I’ll search for any Steves… Thanks.

Edit – I found one Steve Lewis in a list of prominent Home citizens in “A Depth of Understanding”. He wasn’t called out as April’s dad, but I think that was what I was trying to add. I changed it to Bob.

        • Terry Dean says:

In the latest, Robert is given as April’s father, not Steve. Robert is her grandfather and dead brother, but not her father’s name.

        • Terry Dean says:

The list of family members is from the first book, April. Steve Lewis is manager of M3 for Japanese corporation and April’s father in several places. Bob is her dead brother.

No Steve in word search of the current version so it got edited somewhere along the line. Version up in Amazon is third posting I believe.

I finally got the update for “April” today. Odd, since you changed it in April, and I synch at least once a day. I like the new cover. Only caught a couple of incorrect words. Looks much better. There are a couple of times, during the first space fight, that Happy comments, although I don’t believe he is on the ship. Waiting for the update on “Down to Earth”, as well as the new Family Law.
Thanks so much for all the great reads!
