Snippet of Family Law 9
August 29th, 2025 | Ramblings
“Hello again, My Lady,” Tom said as soon as they boarded the Twool.
“Didn’t you just see her on the Silk Road this morning?” Gandhi asked.
“Yes, but that was billions and billions of clock cycles ago,” Tom replied.
“Yet you haven’t seen me since yesterday and didn’t greet me.”
“That’s different,” Tom said.
“Exactly. That’s what I was trying to say.”
“Then we agree.”
“Don’t you worry about me being out of your sight?” Gandhi demanded.
“Not particularly. Certainly not equally to my concern level for Lee.”
Clare turned her head away, looking out at the road and hillside with sudden fascination. It would have served its purpose if a little giggling snort hadn’t escaped.
“I like Tom watching out for me,” Lee said.
“But it bothers me he favors one of us meat people over another.”
“Don’t you, Gandhi?” Tom asked. “I question your judgment if you don’t.”
Clare regained her composure enough to start them for Pete’s. That is, she told Tom to take them there. He could multitask.
“Maybe a little, but I trust my reasons. How does Tom have those feelings?”
“Which is it, feelings or reasons? I can’t claim feelings, but I have lots of reasons.”
“I… sort of expected them to agree with each other,” Gandhi claimed.
