I’m reading it now on Kindle unlimited! It is very good and it feels a lot more sophisticated than some of the previous books? Maybe it is me and I am just reading more carefully.
I did notice the books appears to have a TOC, or the ability to navigate to chapters? No navigation index or anything? Also the book appears to start very abruptly and it looks like it goes directly from cover to Chapter 1 with nothing between them?
Yeah I didn’t see the point of a TOC with simple number chapters instead of named. Amazon would like me to add them too. It’s just one more thing to do and not super easy in Word.
The one issue I ran into with that was I could not navigate book except by turning pages. I could not choose a page number as those also were not available. It is a minor thing but it was jarring.
I write ebook software so I tend to notice that sort of thing. I have to frequently and painfully deal with malformed ebooks that I have to figure out how to make not crash my app.
I’m not sure why. I’ll go through the publishing pages and see if I failed to check off a box. – Mac’

Everything is fine for me, the pages are numbered, and the chapters are selectable in the Kindle app.
However, I bought the book rather than getting it via Unlimited.

Well you may like a new cover coming better. Sarah Hoyt has been sick and involved in a move too. I didn’t want to bother her, but she chewed me out and said she isn’t DEAD. So I’ll have a Hoyt cover soon at her insistence. It was about as good as I could cobble together.

I haven’t raised my prices since starting about 2012. Maybe that will get me more sales that going a buck or two higher. I’ll increase it when the time and effort spent don’t seem worth it. It’s not like I need this money to eat.
Once more I have foolishly thought at midnight, “I’ll just start this Mackey Chandler book, then go to sleep”. So I kept “just one more chaptering”, until 0610 when I finished. Excellent book! Thank you for all you do!

@Benny – same problem… my sleep has been interrupted for the last couple days because I just wanted one more chapter. Sometimes the body force what the mind should do. Chuckle.
@Mac – Another great installment to the whole(both) series. Part of me really like the longer page count vs more frequent releases because it last longer and I don’t read it in an afternoon.
Really love dropping into Lee and the Badger Universe again. Looking forward to the next installment when they go deeper in space and the new “Ancient Enemy”!!

In the interest of rereading both series or checking if I missed any is there a timeline list of the books published so far? The books page on the site seems hard to see the order very well however that might just be due to me using my cell phone instead of a computer. 😀
