I’ve finished “I Never Applied for This Job”
April 18th, 2025 | Ramblings
I’ve had some help editing and have one more set of correction to apply. Those will be mostly punctuation. It’s been fun to write. I should publish before the end of the month. Life keeps interfering. Jan had a bunch of unexpected doc appointments.
Wonderful! Please let use know if there’s a way to purchase it directly from you. The last time I purchased from an author it was a Shopify preorder that was delivered via BookFunnel. Mind you, I’ll buy the book even if it’s from Amazon if I have to.
Now to see if I typed this slowly enough to not get it rejected as spam.
Happy to hear it and I’m glad you had fun writing it! I’d also prefer buying it directly from you if possible because … Amazon. Whatever works, though.
Thank you. I enjoy all you books, especially Family Law and April.
Happy to hear you are still alive and writing! I will be adding another tab to my browser and add your amazon page to must check hourly for new release. I have this blog as one of the first things I check when I get up already bookmarked and on a locked tab.
Agree with the above. Let us know if their is another purchase option beyond amazon. the stories of what small authors put up with. very very sad.
👍
Perfect timing! I just finished a reread of the Family Law series.
Hey just a idea in case you are torn between allow people to buy the book oitside of amazon and the rules that kindle unlimited books aren’t allowed outside the kindle system.
How about a limited time where your fans can get the book directly from you and after you stop that its kindle only.
Might be a hassle to figure that out especially in a way that pirates live to easily.
Thanks, Mac. Looking forward to its release, as with all your stories.
Hallo Mac,
Am looking forward to the release. Hope Jan is alright!
Best regards,
Johannes
Trying to get it out right now…
Looking forward to getting it.
Yay! Got it!
hey Mackey I’ve a question
could we get more of Margaret, Jon, and the older crew?
perhaps as short stories??
Mark
+1 here too for short stories about peripheral characters if you are looking for something to do in all that spare time you have! So many great characters who we miss!
Maybe if y’all come fill in the four days a week our housekeeper isn’t here.
Now you made me think about it. But shorts don’t pay anything…
Alma Boykin does the Familiars series they are novels, but occasionally will release a short story collection in the same universe.
Lee does that in the Liaden series.
Yay! Perfect timing! I just re-read the whole FL series in preparation!
Nice story has only one major flaw “it is way to short”.
I’m in the first reread and found some errors but nothing big. At least 5 times trish instead of tish. Some times you have the number Zero instead of a small o. I have found f0r, wh0 and grid-l0ck. And one time flash-band instead of flash-bang.
Thanks – I fixed the Trish issue already this morning. I’ll go look for the other right now. – Mac’
I’m rereading the story right now. One spelling error I noted Mr. Munoz’s name has been enter ed as “Mu n oz” about 3 or 4 times when his name is mentioned in a conversation. I forget where in the the story but it’s fairly early in it. Just FYI.
Mac…
I’ve read all your April and FL books. Some several times.
Did I miss Heather and April being pregnant and having babies with Jeff?
Curious minds and all that.
Mac,
I think this is the best story flow of any of your writings. It goes from one subplot to another but they all tie together. This story tells the status of the April and FL universe while fully tying them together.
The plot is a joy to read.
I am sorry we do not have the life extension that April and the others have because then I could be reading your writing that much longer.
I have read every book that you have wrote including the one that Amazon unpublished.
I look forward to you future writings.
It took a few corrections to get there. I just fixed ten typos Amazon pointed out to me, so maybe they will propagate an update in their system. I’m glad you enjoyed it. – Mac’
Hello Mac..
I was wondering if the book, I never applied for this job, will be out on audio and if so when also if Joe Hempel will be narrating again.
Already got the itch to just read it but I do prefer the audiobook format. Its an itch..
I’ve offered more books to them but they haven’t wanted to expand my offerings. Not sure why. All so far have earned out their advances.
That is frustrating, I hope its just that they are over tasked and its not something unpalatable.
So that means an audiobook is not nearing the horizon.. Guess I will be reading the Kindle version instead, annoying though with an excess of Audible credits.
/cheers Mac, for the book and best wishes!
