About Mac
Mac' Chandler is a retired in the pleasant little town of Rochester MI and writes when he isn't puttering about being a house husband. I've taken to posting my writing for sale on Kindle. I hang out at Baen Bar Chat and shoot rifles even older than me. I've worked so many jobs it is hard to remember them all. Most had to do with some flavor of machining or construction. In particular I was a mold maker and a plumber. I enjoy photography and when I have the patience drawing. For some reason animals like me, not so much people. I stop at garage sales when I see them as well as most red lights. If you see a beat up old black pickup truck that looks like it needs towed I may be somewhere close.
Looks good!
It works ! Any chance for a preview of what book you are working on ?
See above.
Mac I noticed when looking at books listed that there needs to be an update.
In April “All in Good Time” and “Who Can Own the Stars?” are missing.
In Family Law “Friends in the Stars” and “Another Word for Magic?” are missing.
Also “Fair Trade” is missing.
Is there an update on the next book?
I’ll check those. I just had them updated. About 25% into next April book.
The books are in the slide show now. Fair Trade started – Next April at about 25%.
Mac, I’ve been enjoying your books on Kindle from early days, and have recently reread the entire April series. I liked them even better than I remembered. And April 6, which had the pandemic, looks rather prescient now in the current pandemic era. I, like you, am retired and a long-time reader of science fiction. I worked 30 years as a real-time programmer, systems analyst, and database programmer/architect, but my earliest years after college were as a proofreader/copy editor/indexer for a coupe of academic publishers, and I can’t help being bothered by the lack of proofreading and copy editing , especially in the earlier April books, but to some extent all through them. I think you are a talented writer, with good plots and characters, but the typos, grammatical errors, misuse of homonyms and near-homonyms, and especially, the inability to remember your characters’ names correctly across books and the linguistically awkward names you’ve chosen, all drive me crazy. I’d like to offer to copy edit them all for you (at no charge), so they can be all that they should be. Let me know if you’d have an interest in this, unless that’s what you’re doing with the recent updates. I got a notice today that April 9 had been updated, but haven’t downloaded it yet. Pl;ease realize my criticisms come from a place of admiration for your writing skills. I think I’ve read pretty much all your books so far, not only the April books.
I’m always happy to receive corrections. I just corrected straits for two books where straights was used incorrectly. If you have the time and desire to do an entire book that’s great. I’ve had more success with volunteers than paid. I’ll compare your copy to mine and make changes. Will drop you a private message too.
Thank you.
Love your books; can’t wait to see more of Lee and Gordon.
