Stand alone book done.

“Neither Here nor There” is out to readers. I lost my old desktop in a crash so bad it would not reboot, so I lost all my e-mail addresses. If I failed to send a copy to somebody I promised I apologize.
Now I shall go beck to finish April #10, which is started.
After that I will either finish another stand alone or go to Family Law #5.

Is there a link to the book on Amazon or somewhere? I don’t seem to be able to find it.

    Thanks

After the BETA readers rip it apart.

I’m not able to find it n Amazon either. Is there a delay in putting it up?

Hmm I suppose that may just be beta readers, but we will, have it sooon.

Ah, now I understand. It’s out to beta readers—-well, drat! But surely, it will SOON be available on Amazon! (Think I’m a little eager over here, maybe?) ?

And while we’re (impatiently) waiting, here’s a recommendation to help pass the time away:
Through the Badger Hole Bar by Taki Drake
It’s……different……but I enjoyed it. There’s a second book, which I also enjoyed, and the promise of more. Give ‘em a try, while we’re waiting!

Taki Drake’s stuff is good – but when she says a book will be out by such-and-such, DO NOT BELIEVE HER!!!!

Apparently, writing is a part-time job for her, and she apparently is a software programmer, who evidently is ON-CALL 24-7-365.

Will take a look at them. Badgers are cool.

Sounds like it might be out by the end of February. Is that good approximation?

    • Mac January 26, 2018 at 8:32 pm #

Good guess. I should have some covers to look at tomorrow.

Did hard drive die or just windows stop running. If hard drive is still ok you should be able to recover everything data wise. Let me know if you would like some help.

    • Mac January 28, 2018 at 8:39 pm #

I took it back to the maker – would not boot at all – got it back with OS reinstalled. Still not 100% right.

If the hard drive is not dead or the partition blown then any local computer shop should be able to recover your data off the HD for 120 dollars or less. It’s just a matter of plugging it into a external usb docking station and copying the contents off. shoot you could even do that yourself though some things are not obvious where to find them unless you have a little experience.

If the partition is blown then your local shop should still be able to do it for 2 or 3 hundred in time. They have to actually run recovery software on it and piece the stuff together. still not terribly difficult.

If hard drive is dead you can still recover the data. there are several companies that do true data recovery and for just a basic OS hard drive it would be in the 500 dollar range to send it off and get your hard drive back copied to a new hard drive. You could probably drop the new drive into your computer and boot up.

I meant to mention that in the future if you have issues and are not sure what you should or can do, that I’m perfectly happy to give free advise. 🙂 I do IT for a living and all my clients get free advise. I might charge them past advise but I have always been irked when people wouldn’t talk to me on the phone unless they got money first. When I started my business many years ago that was one of my policies.. talking is free 🙂 Just drop me an email and I will send you my phone number.

Or just go to http://www.carleenterprises.com my contact information is there.

Thank you. I sort of expected the guys who built it for $2k to fix it. I know better now. It had 2 SSDs set up as a RAID so I suspect they were lazy. It would not boot at all.

Can your share a summary of this book so readers get an idea of what kind of book to expect?

    • Mac January 31, 2018 at 9:16 pm #

Obsessive compulsive professor discovers life altering invention and is thrown into immediate conflict and rescue of one of his few friends. Some violence, some effective some not. Romance happens despite his cluelessness.
