How it goes for the author…

I had my left knee replaced a week ago. No writing has been accomplished. I’m full time dealing with medical issues. I was stupid yesterday. I got up and loaded the dishwasher. Received a couple of grocery deliveries and put them away. I assembled a walker and shower chair. The PT person was horrified I showered on a steel shop stool. I’ve never fallen off of it! The holes didn’t line up that well in the shower chair so enthusiastic application of a large dead blow hammer fixed that. For the first time since surgery I cooked supper. All of it was too much. My left leg got hot and visibly swollen compared to the right, and hurt. I consulted with a nurse by phone and was told to elevate the leg ice it and STAY that way for at least several hours. Yes, mother….

My nephew will be by later to take my wife to her doc, and after take my bedroom bath door off. It opens in and covers access to the shower controls. I’m still dealing with practical matters. First PT tomorrow at 9am.

I will sit and read my recent chapters on the new book and get my mind in the groove to hopefully add some.
